Salt Lake Showdown 2010

April 5th, 2010

Phew, it has taken a few days to get all the galleries up, but they are up! If you are interested in viewing images from the Salt Lake Showdown last weekend you may view them at http://victoriaharris.zenfolio.com/saltlakeshowdown2010. There were a lot of teams, I tried my best to get as many shots as I could of each team. There will be some high school games I will be attending this season still and if your team is interested in having me come to any of your games please feel free to contact me and let me know!

This was a long weekend, I think the weather was pretty draining on everyone, the only decent day for weather was the last day and it was still pretty windy and chilly. I think everyone was exhausted by the last day, I know I was and I wasn’t the one playing. This was a great tournament and it was fun to see how much the sport is growing here in Utah.

Here are some shots from days 2 and 3…

BYU Lacrosse vs Montana {Utah Sports Photography}

March 14th, 2010

Well, this was an interesting game. I have shot in snow before as well as rain, but this was like nothing I have ever seen before. The field was covered the entire game despite the tractors trying to clear it, there were times where the game would just stop because someone would miss a pass and the ball would get lost (even after they switched to an orange ball, which I think they should use in men’s lacrosse anyways!) At one point I turned around to the crowd and there were some kids making a row of snowmen on the bleachers, coaches, players, and some fans would run around with snow shovels trying to keep the boundary lines and creases clear. It was crazy. If it wasn’t for the fact that I left absolutely soaked, I wish it would snow more often. It added interesting detail and lighting.
