I had the chance to do the team photos for BYU lacrosse this year. Minus having to be there early to get their individual shots done (they practice at 6:00 am every morning…. serious kudos to you guys!) These were pretty fun to do. The actual team photo I guess is technically coming in a few short weeks once they receive their new jerseys, and I think we might do a fun shoot with cool lighting. BYU athletics has done some pretty awesome stuff the past few years for some of the other teams, so I would like to try my hand at it with these guys. Well, guess who’s picture I finally got to take (he avoids me and my camera pretty much at all costs at home…)

AllAmericanShots: Best of 2011December 29th, 2011I have tried to keep my sports and portrait blogs separate this past year but I am finding it is really hard to keep up with both of them. Some of you might not even have know I shoot sports! Actually primarily lacrosse, and a lot of BYU since I have been their team photographer for the past few seasons. SO for 2012 I am moving all my blog posts here and will be launching a brand new website for AllAmericanShots. I wanted to do a best of for 2011 for my sports and portrait sessions, however due to the number of images I go through in a season it is really hard to pick “the best” so I thought it might be better to grab a couple favorites from every college game I shot throughout spring and fall 2011. Last year was a pretty big year for me as I feel I have really grown and learned quite a bit with my sports photography. I was able to get published a few times in Inside Lacrosse (which is a national magazine I used to read while I was playing in college,) as well as shoot the MCLA finals which I had never done before (this was even more awesome since BYU won the National Championship.) Im getting really excited for the new season to kick off here in another month! |
